Nobody does it better
A journal on nonlinear analysis published by the European
Mathematical Society has redesigned its cover to use an image
of mine.
Inside the front cover it says: "The cover picture shows a
simulation by Andrew Yeckel of a Kármán vortex street,
inspired by Sadatoshi Taneda's well-known experimental
photograph of the phenomenon."
This isn't the first time my work has been featured on the
cover of a science journal. An early flow visualization was
selected for the cover of Crystal Growth &
Design when it was launched in 2001, and was displayed
there until 2003.
I made this image using a commercial product. Honestly, it is
of low quality, though it gets the job done. I no longer use
commercial tools for visualization, but I doubt they have
improved much in this respect.
